Yesterday was a day for the garden. I tried to get out early enough so the heat wouldn't get too much but found inspiration everywhere I looked. Seems the yard fares better in the heat than I. So I put down the hoe "no pun intended" and picked up the camera. Inspired by whatkatieate I began to find my shots
as best I could. I shot these with a new micro four thirds camera by sony. If you don't know what that is, it's worth a search. These wonderful new cameras are a new alternative to the large, and bulky dslr cameras made by Cannon and Nikkon. I use the Sony NEX 5. There are only a couple out right now, the main competitor being the Panasonic Lumix GF2. I find the Sony to be a better image quality. I love that I can shoot in RAW format on such a small camera. And the HD 1080p Video is amazing. Sound quality rocks too.
I think the Panasonic comes in 720 video only. Fine for most anything you would do less DVD or Broadcast. The images on both are pretty astounding for such a small camera and unlike smaller digital cameras there is no lag in the picture. So you won't miss that fleeting moment or smile. I have 3 small children, all of my moments are fleeting.
If you like the pics let me know. For all you photogs, they were simply point and shoot. No scrim or cards or Lights. The post was done in PS CS5. Simple clean up and a hammer was dropped on the blacks in isolated areas. Other than that it was WYSIWIG.
I am sure I will find a home for them in one of my licensing or commercial jobs.
